Although I greatly appreciated the author (in an email to those of us on his mailing list that have enjoyed previous books) trying to explain that he didn't mean the book to be "political," and thereafter providing us with free copies, it was very much political. Choked down bile while trying to read about Trump the "protector" of our Constitution & other blatant BS, but quit when author equated "Antifa" (antifascist organization trying to stand up against the violence and bigotry of the Proud Boys, KKK & others of the extreme Right) with assassins. Novels of vigilante justice (with overwhelming evidence of murderous guilt) is one thing, but I won't be reading anything further by this author. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed most of David’s books. I’ve stuck with him even when I believe the Sam Prichard series sounds like a kid wrote it. The Noah books have been better. This book is an over the top, political love letter to and for Trump. It literally reads like Lindsay Graham, Tucker Carlson or Ted Cruz wrote it. Like he is auditioning for the next politically appointed cabinet position. Yes, he can support who he wants, but I can also choose not to buy it. My money is better spent elsewhere. If I wanted see fiction at this level, I would watch Fox News. Sorry you went this route.
